For the third year in a row, local craft beer and growler store Tap It will host its Lanier Beer Fest! And this year’s theme is Beer de Lanier, a celebration of Cinco de Mayo.
Annually, this craft beer festival attracts around 1,000 beer lovers from around North Georgia and this year shouldn’t be any different. Tap It has organized over 25 breweries to share their brews with festivalgoers. Most of the breweries featured will be from the state of Georgia, including Creature Comforts, Terrapin, LNB in Hall County, Sweetwater, Jekyll, Southern Brewing and many more!
“Every year for Lanier Beer Fest we love to feature the great beers that are made in the state of Georgia and this year we will have a special collaboration beer with Tap It and made by LNB in Hall County” said Patrick McCormac, Tap It general manager. “We also will have live music all day, $2 Dox Equis and three foodtrucks.”
Live music is set for the day and will kick off with local DJ Edwin Hughes and following (around 4:30 p.m.) will be Allen Nivens.
Foodtrucks will be Island Chef, an Atlanta food truck specializing in Bahamian fare, Cousins Maine Lobster with lobster rolls, tacos and more and local Hall County food truck OBA Brazilian food truck.
For the first time this year, there will be vendors onsite at Tap It selling locally made products including Smitty’s Cigars, Porch Sense candles, Blue Corvus and Palmetto Moon clothing and gifts.
Lanier Beer Fest will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on May 5 at Tap It located at 1850 Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville. Parking will be available at the Chattahoochee Center, located next to Tap It. Tickets are $20 and include entry and five beer samples. For more information call: 678-897-3985 or check out the Tap It Facebook page.
