Meet Maggie Scroggs! Maggie is a senior at Lakeview Academy and plans to attend Georgia Tech in the fall. Her parents are Jon and Kara Scroggs and she has a brother and a sister. We want to congratulate Maggie and her family on her upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My parent’s names are Jon and Kara Scroggs, and I have a 15 year old sister named Anna Lee and a 14 year old brother, Grant. They both attend North Hall High school and middle school.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I’m attending Georgia Tech and majoring in Business Administration.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Bluefin and 2 Dog.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would probably go to the Holy Land to see where Jesus was crucified. It’s something that has always been on my bucket list, and I think it would be a life changing trip.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “I don’t watch a lot of movies, but my favorite is probably ‘The Notebook’ like every other teenage girl. My favorite TV show is ‘One Tree Hill.'”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “I would say to take advantage of every opportunity you have and not be afraid of other people’s opinions. I was really worried about what other people thought of me, and it’s one of my biggest regrets. Also, just know that God has a plan for your life that is more perfect than you could ever imagine, so just trust in it!!”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “I would probably want to be on ‘One Tree Hill!'”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “I would choose Clemson’s football coach Dabo Swinney, just because I admire what he’s able to do in his life despite his circumstances, and I have a love for college football. I would probably meet him at 2 Dog.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “How everywhere you go in Gainesville you always see a familiar face!”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “Hopefully working for a sports program somewhere in Atlanta or in the south, and hopefully married!”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To go to the Super Bowl.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Any type of worship music or country.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “Favorite month is August because it’s my birthday month and the month school and college football starts back. My favorite holiday is Christmas, and that is also the best single day on the calendar.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “A Dairy Queen blizzard.”

Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “See all of my friends, and hopefully graduate!”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My parents. They are the most selfless, intelligent, and hardworking people I know.”
