Her friend, Jill Abernathy, says, “Elizabeth, despite being very busy, was always willing to pitch in during PTA activities and school activities at Enota Elementary and Gainesville Middle School. She is easy company, very funny, she loves to laugh, and always has the craziest stories!”
Elizabeth was practicing mostly criminal and juvenile law when she was asked to join the Magistrate Court. She has been appointed to this court ever since. We asked Judge Reisman a few questions about her life, Hall County, and her experience in the legal system.
Q: Who are some of the most interesting people you’ve met while living in the county?
A: “People that pioneered or are in the chicken industry.”
Q: If you could choose anyone (alive and a non-relative) to have lunch with, who would it be and where in Hall County would you take them?
A: “Supreme Court Judge, Clarence Thomas or Former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. I would take them to Antebellum in Flowery Branch.”
Q: If you had my job what question would you ask?
A: “What’s the worst case you’ve had while working in the legal system?” To which she responded, “…anything case that involves children.”
Q: What is your favorite social outing in the area?
A: “I love going to Gainesville High School’s Stomp n’ Chomp and sporting events in the area with my children.”
Q: If you could give a piece of advice to a crowd of people, what would you say?
A: “Be who you are and never think you are better than anyone else.”
Q: What top two bands you would like to see in concert?
A: Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I love the people, Lake Lanier, the weather, and the smaller community feel.”
